Results from the 2010-2011 OCDSB Student Survey

The long-awaited results from our district’s trail-blazing student survey initiative have now been released.

OCDSB Associate Director, Walter Piovesan, spoke with the Ottawa Citizen about what the results mean for our district (read the full Ottawa Citizen article here):

“What this allows us to say is, ‘We’re on the right path, let’s continue with this,’ or ‘We need to make some adjustments,’”  (Ottawa Citizen, October 6, 2012).

He further elaborated: “This is a broad-based survey that gives us a picture of what the system looks like. We want to go deeper into that picture and really get our hands dirty in terms of what needs to be done.” (Ottawa Citizen, October 6, 2012)

The baseline date generated from this study will now shape how the district approaches supporting students and families, designs instructional programs, and hires staff.
