Snowfall warning for tonight and tomorrow

March 9, 2011

From The Weather Network website:

15 to 20 centimetres of snow expected by Thursday.. A low pressure system currently over Illinois will move towards Southern Ontario today and tonight. Significant snowfall is expected with this system beginning later this afternoon or early evening. Current indications suggest that most areas will receive 15 to 20 centimetres of snow by Thursday morning. Snow is expected to change to rain early Thursday morning over western regions and by afternoon for areas near the Quebec border as temperatures rise above freezing. There is also a risk of brief freezing rain for areas along the Ottawa Valley during the changeover from snow to rain. Motorists planning to travel in these regions should exercise caution and be prepared for dangerous driving conditions. Environment Canada will continue to monitor this situation and update this warning as necessary.
